AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli was delighted with Mattia Gabbia's performance in victory over Roma.

Gabbia was superb in a one-on-one marking job on Romelu Lukaku.

Pioli enthused: "It's a little soon because he has recently returned and therefore he must take shape and condition, but he will do so.

"Today he was as good as all the guys on the pitch, but I'm very satisfied with Mattia because I wanted him and I believe in him."

On goalscorer Yacine Adli, he also said: "He did very well, he also found the goal and I am really happy for him. He's a strong and intelligent boy.

"I've been saying since September that he's doing great things, he's deserving everything."
