ADO Den Haag coach Alan Pardew feels Dutch football hasn't given him a chance.
Pardew took charge of ADO earlier this year as the team battles against Eredivisie relegation.
And the former Crystal Palace manager believes there's many inside the game waiting for him to fail.
He told Voetbal International: "What I find more difficult as an Englishman is the approach here.
"I had not started yet and I was already judged in the newspapers and on TV. From day one I have had the feeling that I had to defend myself. That surprised me.
"I have had successes and failures, who hasn't in this life? But it seemed as if I did not do much beforehand.
"They can say and write what they want about me - only why before I started?"
