Arsenal and Aston Villa have been given huge boosts in the race to sign AS Roma defender Leandro Spinazzola.
The Italian star, who excels on the left flank, could be sold to raise funds by the capital club.
European reports have linked both the Gunners and Midlands club to his signature.
Per his agent, Davide Lippi, Spinazzola could be sold in January if a suitable offer arrives.
If that is not the case, then he is likely to become a free agent and move in the summer.
Lippi said: "There's no chance for a contract renewal. We'll wait and see how things develop during the January transfer market.
“Otherwise, his contract will expire in June, and he'll become a free agent."
