Anwar El Ghazi is in advanced talks with Mainz.
A free agent after being released from his contract at PSV Eindhoven, the midfielder is on track to sign with Mainz over the next 24 hours.
El Ghazi, formerly of Aston Villa and Everton, has been in England this month, where agents offered him to injury-hit Manchester United.
However, United passed on the prospect of signing the midfielder.
