Aston Villa football chief Monchi admits returning to Sevilla may've been a mistake.
Monchi says his last two years with Sevilla, having returned from Roma, were the worst of his career.
He told LaLiga TV: "The last two years have been very hard in Sevilla, very difficult, where demands have already become a problem.
"My demand, the pressure from outside is valid, but no one beats my demand on myself.
"They were two years in which things did not go so well, but I always clarify, the penultimate season we got into the Champions League, and in the last one we won a title, which is not that Sevilla earn one every two day."
Monchi also said: "I am a special sports director. If people above me start to doubt that I have to have that role, nothing happens.
"If they think there are other needs or another profile, the best thing is to look for another profile, there is no other way.
"I'm not tired because I'm young and I have strength. I understand that everything that touches the first team has to be controlled by the sports management. My concept is that."
