Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez has sought to end any feud with PSG star Kylian Mbappe.
Martinez paid tribute to Mbappe after winning the Yashin Tropny as the Ballon d'Or's Goalkeeper of the Year. The Argentine seeking to end tension regarding his World Cup celebrations earlier this year.
He told France Football: “If Kylian made me suffer? Yes, it is not for nothing that he is considered one of the best players in the world. I have a lot of respect for him, as a player and as a person.
“Obviously, there are images that have been taken and something, which has nothing to do with my personality, has been created. Kylian is an example to follow. This guy is great and already has a World Cup with France, in addition to giving me a hat-trick in the final.
"I think he can be proud and that the French too. If he's the best attacker I've faced? Yes clearly. When Messi and Ronaldo stop, I think he will take over and win lots of Ballons d'Or."
