Aston Villa have not yet succeeded with a move for a Championship star this month.
The Midlands club have seen a bid for Morgan Rogers turned down by Middlesbrough.
This is the second offer that Villa have put in for the 21-year-old, who signed for Boro in the summer from Manchester City.
Per Birmingham Live, Boro hold all the cards in this situation, as Rogers has three and a half years left on his contract.
While Michael Carrick's side cannot reject any offer, they will hold out for a mega sum to lose Rogers midseason.
Villa believe that the forward can come in and immediately compete for a first team spot within manager Unai Emery's squad.
