Barcelona coach Xavi insists he's still counting on Joao Felix this season.

Felix is on-loan from Atletico Madrid, but his long-term future with Barca has been questioned after losing his first-choice status in recent games.

However, Xavi said: "He will be important, but like everyone. He is prepared to be a Barcelona footballer, like the rest."

Before tonight's Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Osasuna, Xavi added: "The goal is to seek excellence and we are on the way.

"Consistency is lacking. I'm happy. The line is very positive despite the titles. Excellence will give us the titles."
