Bournemouth boss Iraola relieved after comeback win at QPR

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola admitted relief after their FA Cup win at QPR.

The Cherries won 3-2, with three goals after halftime overcoming QPR's 2-0 lead.

Iraola said: "Luckily for us it finished well but we suffered, especially in the first half. We didn't play with the required intensity and we had no better choice to play much better in the second half with more urgency and attacking more direct. Luckily I think we did really well.

"We wanted to move the ball, we were moving it quite slowly. We had some chances but the difference between divisions sometimes is difficult."

On his message at half-time, he stated: "We just needed to attack faster, be more vertical and use the space, make them run backwards. We were on the ball and they were quite comfortable, we needed some change of speed and I think players did really well. We had the chances, we had the goals and we deserved the win.

"It is good because in these tough situations, even at half-time, we all believed we could score two, three goals and have the chance of a play-off or score all three and win in the end. It's good. We know we have to play at our best if we are the team we want to be.

"We are going to try in the cup competitions. We have difficult moment like this that you pass and it depends a lot on the draw but you have to get the chances. It's an opportunity, you have to try every year. In the Carabao Cup we didn't win against Liverpool, but we played really well and they won in the end. We are going to try and do the same and have a chance."
