Capello offers title hope to AC Milan

Former AC Milan coach Fabio Capello feels his old club can have a successful season.

Capello insists Milan have a team capable of winning silverware.

He told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "The season will be positive if a trophy is added to the showcase, that will have great value. Especially if it is a European cup. In the championship, trying to chase those in front is a must, but also pay attention to the other candidates for the Champions League zone, they are many and fierce."

Capello also praised Luka Jovic, who is back as prolific as he was a few seasons ago.

"Milan have rediscovered that player we knew. He has scored recently and performed well. If he continued he would be important for several reasons: for him, for the team and for healthy competition with (Olivier) Giroud. We will also have to see what market will be made, it would be important to sign players who are ready and who don't have to settle in Serie A."

For the Scudetto, Capello tried to be realistic: "Let's be honest, the points from Inter and Juventus are many. However, the championships are decided in the spring and it is not the usual cliché... The Rossoneri must be continuous and hope that the others are not. Inter and Juventus are equipped for the title, the Nerazzurri could lose a little of grit and determination for all the praise we give them, me first. It happens that you fall asleep a little, the more difficult it happens to Juve, (Max) Allegri is always on the ball."
