Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has added Anthony Barry to his backroom staff.
The former Everton trainee arrives at Stamford Bridge from Wigan, where he had been working as a coach under fellow Liverpudlian, Paul Cook, before his departure as Latics manager earlier this summer.
Barry links up with Lampard's Blues immediately and ahead of the new season will work within the existing coaching set-up, which includes Jody Morris, Joe Edwards and Chris Jones.
"I'm delighted to welcome Anthony to the club," said Lampard on his new appointment.
"He's an exciting young coach and someone I've known for a while. I believe he will be a strong addition to the team."
Barry enjoyed a lengthy career as a hard-working midfielder in the Football League which included two spells at Accrington Stanley, winning the National League title in 2006.
