FC Copenhagen defender Elias Jelert has welcomed their tough preparation schedule ahead of facing Manchester City.

FCK meet City in the Champions League round of 16 next month and before then they have friendlies scheduled against Rangers and Sparta Prague.

Jelert told the club's website: "These are some great training matches.

"We start hard against a difficult opponent, so it should be fun.

"I think the ambition is for us to meet some of the highest level before we go into the season, so we are one hundred percent ready for us to meet City, who haven't had a break, so we have to get back to it level where we were."
