Liverpool defender Rhys Williams is set for a brief spell away from the club this winter.

The 22-year-old has joined Port Vale on loan until the end of the season to get regular game time.

Williams, who has played 19 times for the Reds' senior team, will be playing in League One.

Most of his game time with the first team came in the 2020-2021 season, when the club had an injury crisis in defense.

The centre back has also spent time on loan at Aberdeen, Blackpool, Swansea City and Kidderminster Harriers.
