Currently away at AFCON with Nigeria, the midfielder has been linked with Everton.

Onyeka told the Bees website: "As a player you want to play every game, but it is what it is.

“I have the mentality that, when I'm called upon, I'll always do my best and show my quality on the pitch.

“Right now, I feel more comfortable, doing what I'm doing and playing my game.

“Thomas has put that trust in me to do on the pitch and do what I do. For me, knowing that the coach has trust in me is so important."
