Former AC Milan coach Fabio Capello concedes Liverpool were too good for his old club last night.
Milan lost their Champions League group opener 3-2 at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Capello said: “I would say that the result in the first half was a liar for what Liverpool had shown. I think this can be a great lesson for Milan to understand what the level of the Champions League is.
"High quality players, great rhythms, great pressing. You cannot play at a low pace. The thing we saw was when they received the ball on pressing Liverpool, Milan lost possession, because the ball came too slow and spun. The great speed and determination of this team created problems."
