Former Arsenal ace Eduardo da Silva is contemplating a return to football this year.

The former Croatia international played in the Champions League and the European Championships in his heyday.

Now 40, Eduardo could be back in the game in the 14th tier of English football.

"My son is at Flamengo's academy but I didn't play for a big club in Brazil," Eduardo told The Sun.

"In every community there are hidden gems like me and that's why I was delighted to become ambassador for Gillingham Town and help them recruit sponsors."

"We've even discussed registering me to play in the league," the former Gunner added.

"I want to play because even though I am retired I still play football with my friends in Brazil."
