Former Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font has demanded better from the current board.

Font took to social media after Barca's 4-1 Spanish Super Cup final thrashing by Real Madrid on Sunday.

He declared: "In a club like Barça, all the pieces must fit and they must fit well. President, Board of Directors with relevant knowledge and without making day-to-day decisions, sports structure that combines experience and talent, excellent executives in the offices... We need the best professionals in each area: sports, business and institutional.

"I repeat that Barça's potential (yes, with this ownership model!) is infinite. If the best in each area work in the club of their heart, and not in the competition or in another sector, we will get away! It's time to re-found the club, professionalise it, modernise it. From up to down. Every day that passes we lose an opportunity.

"Long live Barça and long live Catalonia!"
