Former Real Madrid chief Pedja Mijatovic is confident Luka Modric will retain his consistency next season.

Modric has penned a new deal for next season and will also continue with Croatia, despite some doubts from inside the club.

Mijatovic said on Cadena SER: "Luka is not going to leave the national team, he is very excited to get to the Euro Cup next year in good shape.

"After two excellent World Cups, the Croatian team needs a European tournament where they can also leave their mark and Luka is in it.

"First Real Madrid and then also with the national team."
