Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano is happy to have reached the Coppa Italia semifinals.
A penalty shootout win against Bologna after last night's tie finished 0-0 saw the Viola through.
Italiano said: "We had 24 hours less than Bologna, with matches this close it can be a blow and instead we overcame this too. There was a strategy already implemented in the finals and today, since Bologna is really goodl and has quality, we tried to be super aggressive and except for the first few minutes we created important dangers and suffered little from them.
"Penalties are a lottery. But today I saw a beautiful match, without anyone speculating on the result. I also complimented Thiago (Motta). And regarding recoveries, there is still an emergency. Let's see Gonzalez and Sottil....
"We wanted to make sense of the next few months, there will be another competition to think about and prepare for. The goal was to stay in the race and we did it, we are happy. We cared, after the previous two years, now it will be even more difficult but the happiness is enormous."
