Girona coach Michel says it's important the club stays grounded.
The title hopefuls were held to a 0-0 draw at Almeria on Sunday.
Ahead of their Copa tie with Rayo Vallecano, Michel said: "The most important purpose was to achieve the third season of Girona in the Primera Division and we have achieved it.
"The second is to achieve Pablo Machín's 51 points and we want to close it sooner rather than later. Now, we see the goal of being able to play Europe and take another step in the Cup, and I think we are prepared, so we do not make any kind of excuse.
“In our minds it was not planned to be able to play the Champions, but we have to stay with our feet on the ground and be humble, without paying attention to the expectations that are had from outside."
