Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti is proud to have reached 50 years of age.

Zanetti turned 50 in 2023.

He told reporters while in Argentina: "The truth is that a great year has ended for me, I turned 50, an important number.

"When I remember what the whole journey was like, I feel proud."

Pressed by journalists, Zanetti also responded to questions about the future of Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni.

"He expressed what he felt, that he had to stop and see other things that interested him, but behind there is no strategy in his declarations.

"I don't know if it's an economic question, I think that he was sincere and certainly together with the president of the AFA they will find a solution so that the Argentine national team continues to be in an elite place."
