QPR striker Lyndon Dykes admits former manager Michael Beale's departure came as a blow.
Beale left the R's before the midseason World Cup break to return to Rangers, where he had previously been assistant to Steven Gerrard.
Dykes admits there was disappointment inside the dressing room with Beale's decision, though insists he holds no grudge.
On behalf of CopyBet, the Scotland international told Tribalfootball.com: "Yeah, I think we're all sad, you know he came in and did a great job. He was a really good manager.
"He came in straight from day one and knew what he wanted.
"His training sessions were very good, very intense and it probably made us better players as throughout the season we were showing it in results."
Neil Critchley has since come in as Beale's replacement and Dykes says the situation is simply an example of what occurs in the game.
He continued: "Football's football, you know, he had an opportunity to go elsewhere and he took it.
"We all wish him the best. He was great for all of us and I'm sure he will be successful."
