Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen is very close to completing his loan move to Borussia Dortmund.

The left-back has not been enjoying the best of seasons, as he is down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Maatsen wants to leave for regular football and appears to have gotten his wish.

Per The Mail, Maatsen will cost Dortmund a modest loan fee of around £2 million.

Maatsen is also likely to extend his contract until 2027, which will put Chelsea minds at ease.

The club were concerned about losing the 21-year-old on a free transfer in the summer.
