Manchester City Treble winner Erling Haaland will battle Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe for FIFA Men's Best for 2023, which is given to the best player of the year.

While Messi won the Ballon d'Or and the 2022 Men's Best for his World Cup exploits, Haaland may have a chance with this award.

The striker scored more than a goal a game for City in the Premier League and Champions League last season.

There were other finalists for the award as well, including Declan Rice, Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri and Bernardo Silva.

However, the initial 12-man list has now been whittled down to the best three of the year.
