Manchester City are stalling new contract talks with Kevin De Bruyne.
The 32 year-old Belgium midfielder's contract expires in 2025 and there is yet no new deal on the negotiating table.
The Daily Star says the reason is City wants to wait on De Bruyne's current injury, to see if he can return to his best levels again.
At the same time, City are aware it is a risky plan, as interest in the 32-year-old could grow as his contract runs down.
De Bruyne is currently recovering from a major hamstring injury.
