Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe insists Lewis Hall's future with the club is down to the player.
Hall is on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
Asked about a permanent deal, Howe told Chronicle Live: "That will be down to Lewis. Potentially it will (be a big year for Hall).
"He's got all the tools. As I have said with Lewis we need patience and calm. But he is developing nicely."
A permanent deal is dependent on appearances and Newcastle chiefs expect him to reach the required mark comfortably.
