Newcastle United are to bid for PSG striker Hugo Ekitike in January.

Newcastle tried to sign Ekitike last year when he was with Reims, but the youngster chose to sign for PSG.

However, he has only made just one appearance in Ligue 1 this season.

L'Equipe says PSG need to sell to ease Financial Fair Pay pressure and will welcome interest from Newcastle.

Also keen are Olympique Lyon ahead of the market reopening next week.
