Former Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has questioned the mentality of Kai Havertz.
The German has come in for a lot of criticism since he signed for the club from Chelsea this summer.
Manager Mikel Arteta is insistent that Havertz will work in his team, but Pardew is unconvinced.
Comparing Havertz with Liverpool's Darwin Nunez, he told talkSPORT: “Nunez brings the personality like a hunger, and you can forgive the misses because you know he is trying, he is looking like he is trying, he is making things happen.
“And Havertz sometimes he goes through games and emotionally, you wonder if he is involved in it enough.
“Is he serious enough for it? That's the difference between the two, I would say."
