Former Lazio midfielder Marco Parolo is backing the arrival of Matteo Guendouzi.
The Olympique Marseille midfielder arrived in Rome today to sign for Lazio.
Parolo feels Guendouzi is capable of easing the departure of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. He told Il Corriere della Sera: "Without him there is no certainty. Apart from the quality of the player, the team-mates knew they could rely on Sergej: he was plan B, the lifeline.
"(Daichi) Kamada is an interesting player, he can get into (Maurizio) Sarri's mechanisms well, but he needs time to find his condition and integrate.
"Guendouzi? He brings international depth, he's useful, but he has no goals. In my opinion Lazio would need that. He could become as important as Allan was in Sarri's Napoli, he can help the defence to rearrange itself. But something is missing on an offensive level in my opinion."
