Pundit Massimo Mauro has responded to taunts from Roma coach Jose Mourinhoie
After their Coppa Italia win against Cremonese this week, Mourinho demanded "respect" from former Juventus midfielder Mauro for criticising his players.
Mauro has now told Sportmediaset: "I don't have to repeat anything I said ten days ago, there was all due respect for coaches, players, referees... And for Mourinho."
Mauro continues: "If we talk about football I listen to him for a month straight, but if he needs an enemy I'm not available. If you want, we'll talk about football when we meet. He knows his stuff, he's a great communicator and never does anything randomly. He may have his reasons, but I resented it and it's my job.
"I have been doing this for twenty years, I have the company and my conscience as interlocutors, but I have always respected everyone."
On the source of Mourinho's anger, it's been revealed Mauro on 23 December, after the match won by Roma against Napoli, had this to say: "Very difficult match for the referee, the players behaved in a way that to define as questionable is an understatement. If it's a strategy, it's unsportsmanlike. Mourinho took it out on Politano and Kvara, he said not to dive but he should tell them (his players) first... "
