Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti expects Luka Modric and Toni Kroos to soon sign new deals.
Both veteran midfielders are off contract in June.
"There is progress because they are talking and I think that in the end a solution will be found," Ancelotti acknowledged with a smile.
"I see veterans as always. They can have moments of better or worse level during a season, it's quite normal and it happens to all players, but we have to evaluate them not by age, but by what they do.
"Experience takes something away from you but it also gives you something, and it's given them the shape to manage games.
"I think they will continue but we also have to think that the day they are going to stop, because what they have is a unique thing, something has to change. We have to look, the future of the club is another line, it is not that of football of Kroos and Modric."
