Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti insists he's not Xavi's nemesis.

Xavi is under pressure at Barcelona after their Spanish Super Cup final thrashing by Real Madrid on Sunday.

Ancelotti, however, has rejected claims of his influence on Xavi's situation.

He said yesterday: "I haven't put anyone on the ropes and I have maximum respect for all coaches because it's a very difficult job and we know very well that when things don't go well, it's the coach who's to blame.

"I wish him all the best and he has all the tools to do his job well".
