Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos says he enjoyed being jeered by Saudi Arabian fans during the Super Cup campaign.

Kroos was jeered by local supporters after criticising Gabri Veiga for leaving Celta Vigo for Al Ahli last August.

He told his personal website: "I didn't expect it at all, I didn't even think it was for me.

"The background is that I don't think it's good for young players to enter the league and give up development, big games, high levels in Europe, which they could certainly play, instead of Saudi Arabian league money. That was my statement at that time and it was approximately half a year ago, for me it was already forgotten.

"I noticed it at some point during the first half (of the final). At first I didn't think they were referring to me (the boos).

"Then I looked at the curve and realized: Oh, this is for you, just for you. I know how to add two and two.

"I can say, from the bottom of my heart, that it did not bother me or affect my way of playing, On the contrary, it was quite fun.

"I thought from time to time, who can last longer? (. ..) Over time it could get boring and in the final I noticed that there were fewer and fewer of them (laughs). When they changed me, everyone recomposed themselves again and gathered all their strength again (to whistle at him). You get used to it and it makes you smile. The boos confirm my statements, I was probably right."
