Roma great Bruno Conti has paid tribute to Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho was sacked by Roma after two and a half seasons in charge.

Conte posted to social media: "Dear José, in these two and a half years you have brought a trophy back to the cabinet. Emotions and a lot of enthusiasm for us Roman fans.

"It was an honour for me. Thanks for everything, I will never forget you.

"To you, Dany, you know what my thoughts are towards you, for us who grew up with this shirt. Good luck. Come on Roma ALWAYS."

Daniele de Rossi has been named new Roma coach to the end of the season.
