Roma midfielder Bove: Losing to Lazio hurts; they threw a beer bottle at my head

Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove admitted frustration after their Coppa Italia defeat to Lazio.

Lazio won 1-0 thanks to Mattia Zacagni's successful penalty.

Bove said: "A tight match, conditioned by an episode that caught us unprepared at the beginning of the second half and then we weren't able to get things back on track. We tried to get the result back, losing the derby hurts but we need to start again from Milan.

"It will be a very difficult match in Milan. We must fill these wounds with the strength of the group, alone it is much more difficult to overcome these disappointments. The strength of the group will make the difference.

"We leave everything on the pitch, the matches can go well or badly. The goal is to leave your soul on the pitch."

Bove was hit by a beer bottle launched from the Lazio supporters' section and he added: "I experienced it in a normal way, they threw a bottle of beer at my head and they hit me. I didn't think it was appropriate to cause controversy or scenes, the competent authorities will intervene because I don't think it's normal.

"However, I prefer to talk about field things."
