Sevilla coach Jose Luis Mendilibar was happy with Sergio Ramos' debut for victory over Las Palmas.
Ramos played a full 90 as Sevilla won 1-0.
Mendilibar later said: "He is the one who speaks on the field of play, the one who calls the shots.
"We have to change his ideas a little, he has ideas of having possession, playing from behind and our game is not that, it is more direct, of winning first plays or seconds and from there, play.
"I prefer to be closer to the opponent's goal."
On Dodi Lukebakio's debut, Mendilibar was also enthusiastic.
"Good because he scored the goal but he has to work much harder and be more attentive when defending. He has to give us more. Good in attack, bad in defense."
