Legendary Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has highlighted why Karim Benzema should be the club's preferred signing this January.
Benzema is playing in the Saudi Pro League for Al-Ittihad this year, but the 36-year-old may want a return to Europe.
Wenger believes that if the Frenchman is serious about coming back to Europe, Arsenal should push for his signing.
He admitted to wanting to sign Benzema when he was Arsenal boss as well, stating: "He was in competition with Higuain for a while. It was Higuain for three games, three games for Benzema.
"He played the game based on passing and connections, so he was an ideal player up front.
"He's a striker who makes people around him better and sometimes you have strikers who score goals but they make players around them worse. He's not one of them. If you put Benzema in the team, I would want to play with him."
