Tottenham new signing Timo Werner has spoken about the words of Cristian Romero in a team huddle recently.
Romero gave an impassioned speech to his teammates as they took on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Werner, who signed on loan from RB Leipzig this month, started the 2-2 draw in the Premier League.
"It's been a great first week, to come to a new group, to see the new team-mates, the staff, the coaches and everything. It was a very special week for me. Everything went so fast. I trained two or three times with the team before playing the first game at Old Trafford," he stated in a club interview this week.
"I was excited but for sure you are nervous, to come to a new group, normally it's in pre-season so you maybe have 10-15 training sessions before you play your first friendly game but here it was two training sessions with the boys and then go out in one of the biggest stadiums in Europe and play there. Such an important game. It was unusual but in the end I enjoyed it very much and the boys made it easy for me to settle quickly."
On Romero, he added: "He said we should enjoy it and to keep playing our football no matter what's coming. I think that's what we did. To be 1-0 down after two minutes at Old Trafford it's not that easy to play that football like we did.
"I think everything he said we did it in the game and also what the manager said before to us. I think we tried to put it into our game and although the draw is a good point for us, the way we played and how many chances we had we could have easily won this game as well."
