Yokohama F Marinos coach Kevin Muscat praised his players after their friendly defeat to Manchester City.

City won 5-3 on the night, with Muscat proud of the way his players refused to allow City to runaway with the game.

Muscat said, A tough challenge against a tough side and a strong manager.

“From our perspective I am really proud of the group.

“Sometimes in life you have to make decisions to protect who you are or do something different because it's easy.

“Tonight they protected our identity with a great deal of honour."
