Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta concedes goalscoring his their problem as they return from their winter break.

The Gunners resume their season against Crystal Palace.

Arteta said: "You have to look at objectively. In order to do that you need to dissect the game in many parts as much as you possibly can to understand what happened. In football there is the balance between what you merit and what you actually have.

"It is not always at the same level and that has been the case overall this season but there are things we can improve and do better. Those marginal gains have to be installed and they have been installed the last 10 days so we have to see them come out."

Asked how they will improve, Arteta also said: "Changing certain things. Analysing firstly what we as coaches can do better. It's the most difficult thing to coach because it's so unpredictable. Times, distances, spaces from the opponent, they change from picture to picture and they change immediately after the ball is moving. But we try to give them clarity. We have to give them the tools to improve in the best possible way. That's what we have to do. They have it in them. They know that and they've had a lot of individual talks about it and it will come.

"I don't want to give the responsibility to the players. That's why I'm here. The responsibility to win and to score three, four, five goals is there. The question is how are we going to score five goals every game. That's the question there, how are we going to do it? The rest we expect to change it tomorrow but that's not going to happen. We have to make things happen and we have to be active and find solutions to that."
